Online Poker in Nevada

Do you like playing online poker or other online casino games? If so, there is some very interesting information and developments taking place, now that the smoke has begun to settle from the explosion of online gambling legalization in a handful of US states of late.remote-control-camera

As many of you know, Nevada was the second state to sign legislation into law agreeing to legalize online gambling at US online casinos (Delaware was the first). New Jersey just signed its law less than a week ago.

But what makes Nevada the trailblazer, is that its overriding law contains a clause allowing state-to-state gaming agreements, beating New Jersey to the option and putting in place a prospective countrywide structure for online wagering.

The extremely well-developed bipartisan bill authorizes Nevada Governor Rick Sandoval’s office to make deals with other states that will allow Nevada-based companies to host interactive gambling for people living in such other states.

Online poker Nevada style anyone? Yes, California we think! See, California recently introduced legislation to permit inter-state online poker wagering (only), potentially creating a nice niche for partnering with Nevada to allow Californians to play for real money via Nevada based casinos online.

With the speed of bills introduced into legislature, we will soon see an increase in states very interested in moving forward to legalize online gambling in the US. Not only are online gaming companies all over the world starting to clamor into action, a number of companies ahead of the game have already been granted licenses for online poker in Nevada, but limited to serving Nevada residents.

With the new bill, Nevada is planning to pave the way for nationwide online gambling (even though efforts at federal regulation have stalled). Established companies such as Wynn Resorts and MGM Resorts are also planning to add new customers and attract online players to come stay and gamble at their Vegas properties. Bottom line: In order to remain current with technological advances, land based casinos must adapt to the evolution of gambling in an increasingly mobile world.

The Nevada bill is void of any provision requiring federal legislation nor Department of Justice approval before online gaming licenses can be approved. New Jersey’s law contains a 5-year waiting period for existing online casino and poker room operators to become licensed. As far as the Nevada bill goes, it is more accommodating to online poker in Nevada (to deal with other potential states such as California).

So, why would Nevada want to put its neck on the line to create intrastate deals? Quite simply, it’s all about generating revenue. Nevada will no doubt earn revenue from interstate players even though they may be gambling online from a neighboring state or across the country. Geo-tech companies are 100% interested in further developing software that will enable online casinos to validate who logs in to play and from where.

This industry is in full swing indeed, and 2013 is a good year for proponents of online poker in Nevada and gamers all over the US who want more protections when playing poker online for real money. Making internet casino gambling more safe and secure for more people in the US is finally starting to take place.

And thanks to the fast-moving legislative action in Nevada, not only does the bill legalize many forms of real money online gambling for Nevada residents, it also allows Nevada to discuss online gambling agreements with other states. We are telling you right now to keep your eye on California. Californians, online poker Nevada style may be headed your way very soon. Which others states, we are not so sure yet. New Jersey, maybe. But, California looks pretty darn good.
